The Black Student Union at Sacred Heart University serves as a space for unity, empowerment, and cultural celebration. Our mission is to uplift and support Black students while promoting awareness, education, and appreciation of Black history, culture, and identity within the SHU community.

We aim to foster an inclusive environment where all students—regardless of background—can engage in meaningful conversations, build connections, and grow as leaders. Through events, discussions, and collaborations, BSU works to advocate for equity, celebrate diversity, and strengthen the presence and voice of Black students on campus through inclusion.

SHU's Respect the ABILITY is designed to foster a culture where all people are treated with equality, dignity, and respect and have equal opportunities to participate in a community where abilities, rather than disabilities, are recognized. The organization provides support in social aspects, as well as provides a means to educate the SHU community to have a better understanding of disabilities through exposure, awareness, and interaction. It aims to show the intersectionality between diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Ukrainian club at SHU aims at exposing Ukrainians and non-Ukrainians in the SHU community to the beautiful Ukrainian culture.
